While at ISR, Ms. Stambaugh helped scores of companies deal with such issues as employee performance, motivation, recruitment, turnover, team effectiveness, management practices, and profitability. Her clients there included Ford Motor Company, Maritime Life, John Hancock, Sisters of Mercy Healthcare Corporation, Sun Oil, and the U.S. Army and Navy.
In 1984, Ms. Stambaugh joined the consulting firm, Rensis Likert Associates, as a Senior Associate and a member of its Board of Directors. There she expanded the scope of her work and the organizations she served. The Environmental Protection Agency, McNeil Consumer Products, Stop-N-Go, and The University of Michigan, among others, were added to her client list.
Ms. Stambaugh's work now focuses on organizations that realize the need for customer-centered strategies to succeed in an increasingly competitive and diverse marketplace. She is President of the Professional Speakers Association of Michigan and has served on the boards of many organizations and professional associations. She is also a member of the National Speakers Association, the Ann Arbor chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, and the Detroit Organization Development Network. Ms. Stambaugh founded RLS Associates in 1987.
She has written "Characteristically Successful" an article on success in the insurance industry for Recruit! Magazine, "Making Organizational Surveys Pay Off" for ASTD (with David G. Bowers, Ph.D.), and is currently working on "Building a Successful Diversity Effort: Eight Key Factors" with Laurita Thomas for presentation to the American College of Healthcare Executives in March, 1998.
